Roast pork was lovely. It had proper crackling! Divine.
Cooked the bacon - it went crispy. Cooked the sausages - no fat came out. Cooked the burgers - they didn\'t shrink. My family devoured everything and are demanding more!

Pork

We use the Duroc Boar onto Duroc x and Traditional British Breed Sows - this breeding has given us our base product (great tasting succulent pork) - we then set about turning it into super sausages, amazing bacon and delicious pork products.

  • This breeding was chosen when we established the pig herd because:
    • The Duroc is the only breed which lays down intramuscular fat within the meat rather than large amounts of subcutaneous fat. Intramuscular fat gives succulence to the meat, basting the meat naturally during cooking and keeping the meat moist and tender.
    • Traditional British breeds are renowned for good flavour, but are very slow growing and tend to get over fat.
    • The Duroc boar balances this “flavour & fat” relationship perfectly resulting in superb meat.
